This lovely National Trust village is only 5 minutes away by car. An interesting village with Lacock Abbey, the Fox Talbot Museum of Photography, typical Cotswold cottages and one wide street. It is often used as a location for the Harry Potter films. Larkrise to Candleford, Cranford, Emma, The Other Boleyn Girl, and Pride and Prejudice were also filmed here.
The village has some excellent pubs, restaurants, tea-rooms, bakery, an exclusive silversmith and a National Trust shop.
The Whitehall Garden Centre is nearby. As well as selling interesting plants it has a very good gift shop, food hall and restaurant.
